Hi, I am a 26 yr old Doctor from York who suffers from a mild form of Haemophillia which is a hereditary genetic illness which impairs the body's ability to control bleeding. I do not require medication to control this except for certain situations e.g. surgery/ trauma incidents.

The problem I have though is that I am trying to find if this prevents me from gaining a Class 1 medical pass and I can find no literature pertaining to plasma clotting activity on the CAA medical site.

Does anyone know of the regulation relating to this, or even better are there any pilots out there with this condition.

Thanks

Best bet is to ring the medical branch; they'll give you chapter and verse.

At face value I would have thought that haemophilia is not necessarily a condition which can give sudden and disabling symptoms.

Good luck and let us know the outcome.

FWIW I have been diagnosed as a symptomatic carrier of haemophilia B as well as Von Willebrand disease and this didn't stop me getting the UK class 1 as well as the Australian one.
