Acer 1716 Monitor

Anyone use the above monitor? I've just bought one and it seems to have a slight problem.

On initial switch on there is a slight shimmer to the screen, and the vertical edges to windows and icons etc, have a oscillating fuziness(for want of a better word). I can get rid of this using the screen focus setting in the menu, but only for half of the screen, ie the right half is fine, but not the left, or vice versa.

After about 10-15 minutes of use, it's all gone and everything is fine.

Just wondered if anyone else had the same problem?

I noticed the same thing with my Acer 19 inch LCD when I first got it. I was able to eliminate the effect by changing the monitor refresh frequency in windows. Try playing with other settings and you'll probably find one that works fine.

Thanks, I'll give that a try when I get home. It's the left side/right side thing that's a bit puzzling.
