Nothing like a few scary words to make the story more sensational! www.smh.com.au has got a better report without the embellishing additions.

I love the use of the word "evacuate" even though from reading the article it appears the pax disembarked at the gate

Journalism or sensationalism?

Couldnt see the article on the SMH page but gotta love the 'intelligent' advertising system that places the Flight Centre logo directly under the photo of an Air India plane with a collapsed nosewheel :E

And here's me thinking "evacuate" was a medical term related to bodily functions. :p

Brian, I am reliably informed that it's not unknown for both to happen at once!!! :)

Was this the same B767 that did an orderly return to Sydney "under its own steam" and disembarked the passengers at the aerobridge in an orderly manner?

According to some of the idiots in the media a massive fuel leak occurred followed by an emergency landing and evacuation!!!

Makes you wonder how anyone can take the media seriously on these matters, especially when they start getting technical quotes from passengers with no experience who couldnt see a damned thing from the centre row!!!!

With such accurate reporting you can see how Darth gets away with so much in the press....then again wasn't Darth a journo once?

I guess the determining factor to if it was an evacuation or not? Would depend on wether the passengers took their hand luggage with them!;)

Even during an evacuation there is always some goose who will try to take their duty free or whatever...
