There seems to be a lot going on with regards to the MK ab initio scheme, but what is happening within the airline?

Rumour has it that about 17 pilots (Captains and FO's) left the employ of Air Mauritius last month.

Apparently they are really short of Captains on the ATR fleet, and currently have only about 8 Captains with 20 FO's.

A bunch of FO's on the long haul fleet also left, I believe.

The MD is having sleepless nights, and have warned management that the situation is critical. What's going on with this lot?

Anybody know anything more? Are they recruiting qualified and experienced crew, or are they trying to fast track the cadets on the long haul fleet?

Nothing new. Guys have been leaving for ages. But when the helicopter pilots leave, things are really bad. Are they still the only ones having to pay taxes too?

Just the big fish in a small pond left behind, but then again, they're always behind.

So if this is the same old story with loads of pilots leaving, they must be recruiting practically all year round.

I was keen on taking a job with them, but have heard to many stories.

Poor management, maltreatment of the expats etc.

So what is your suggestion Sidestick, forget about them???
