I have just acquired a 60's vintage metal Victor desk model, which is badly in need of some TLC.

Does anyone have any recommendations of anyone who can restore and refurbish such things?

Can't help you immediately, but if you don't get any other help, I'll dig out the company we used to restore all of ours on the Sqn. Be Tuesday before I get there though.

Many thanks, that might well be the best offer I get!

I have a small Canberra, too, rescued from Camden Market!

Not sure what your models are or are made of, but you might try an appeal here http://http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php (http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php)

Some of the kits on here are stunning!

Thanks, that may be worth a try, though these are the old fashioned hollow metal models, finished in enamel, and not the modern plastic ones.
