HELLO EVERYBODY!!!!!

Finally I get some time to reply to all of you who have been asking after me & baby bump here, via private messages, emails and msn messengers!!! You guys have been keeping me company (and sane!!!) during the last, uncomfortable weeks of my pregnancy! (plz mods do not close this thread just yet!)

Well....it's with a lot of happiness that I can now announce the safe arrival of baby FBW into this world on monday 26th march at 06:02....and it is a boy!!! :}
We called him Francesco Pietro and he weighed 9lb 15oz - 4.495kgs!!!!:eek:
And everybody told me that I looked small....ha!!:E

The birth went ever so well, all done in about 5 hours without any intervention despite the whopping size, the most beautiful experience and most enjoyable pain of my life.
Daddy was amazing throughout and already cannot wait to take him flying....we'll hav to find a baby plane seat ;)
here's a link to a very quick montage, all done in between feeds - he's like a greedy little vacuum pump ha!:E

thank you again for all the good wishes, and to sukigirl and all the girls who are thinking about having a baby......there's no such experience in life and you'll be amazed of how much love such a tiny thing can generate....Unbelievable!!! :O

Hopefully i will be able to catch up with all the happenings very soon!!!
lots of love

FBW

Wonderful vid! Best thing I ever did, even if it did put paid to my career- I don't regret it. My husband flies long haul, and yes there are occasions he misses...first steps/word etc, and later, school performances etc. However, the benefits are also huge- Dad nearly always comes back from a trip with some "unusual" pressies, making them the envy of their classmates, able to source that unobtainable PS3 console for half the price down route etc. Not to mention trips to exotic lands in the school hols. "You are studying Ancient Egypt next term Son, come on my 3 day Cairo trip then"......enjoy ...it's a whole new life..............NLA.

Many congratulations, your little boy is gorgeous. You must be so proud. I had a baby boy too 5 months ago and it is the most amazing experience. I don't miss flying at all and am not going back. When people tell you they grow up so quickly, it is so true. Treasure these wonderful early days, even the sleepless nights!

Guys!!! Thank you ever so much for your replies, they really moved me!!!

We're finally back home, had to be readmitted to hospital due to a slight complication after the birth - for me that is, Francesco is absolutely fine, eats like a little piglet and is ever so good! He's been such a good boy, probably sensed that mummy had to rest and has been sleeping throughout the night (well apart from one feed) since he was born. However I cannot sleep anyway as I seem to be staring at him in amazement all the time!!

He was not overdue, well he was due the 25th and was born the 26th at 6am.....however all the doctors that had visited me in the last 2 months would have put a lot of money on him being born early, given his size!!!

I agree with all of you who have said that kids grow so fast, he's one week old today and has already changed so much!!!

I think it's a bit early for the first flying lesson, but I am sure his dad doesn't want to wait too long before he has his first trial lesson!

Good luck Tecks with your triplets :eek: I really hope all will be fine for you and the little ones!!!

Thanks also for the comments on the video, it was just a "quickie" to show all my friends and family in italy as we cannot fly there yet, so I thought it would be a good idea to show my pprune friends too :)

The little monkey is asleep so I am off to bed.....night night everyone xxxxxxxx

hahaha lexxity :} Thank you so much!!!! these things always happen when you least expect them.... I was so convinced he was NOT going to be born on his due date that, after 3 weeks of eating light etc I had a huge burger just a few hours before giving birth :uhoh: :}
And mr FBW was supposed to get up at 4am that morning for a double, something short like MAN-DUB but thank god he didn't go or he would have missed it!!!!
I'll definitely take him flying as soon as his passport is ready...it will be interesting to see what parents have to put up with to fly with my airline!!!!:E

So you're not the one who's partner should have been operating a LGW/MAN then?

Attitudes to infants varies enormously within my airline I have found. So far I have found L/H crew to be the most friendly and willing to assist.:ok: Enjoy flying with him.

Congratulations FBW. Welcome to the real world!

I would invest in shares in Calpol now!!:E

As I told my brother at his wedding last year: having a baby makes you no more a parent than buying a grand piano makes you a concert pianist!

Best wishes & good luck!!

FBW, I hope little "FP" is sleeping well. If not, I have a suggestion which we only learned with our second child, via the midwife.

Don't put FP down in the cot/moses basket AFTER he has fallen asleep in your arms etc. Do it just before.
