Either 1969 or 1970 we were having a drink in the old Gulf or the Guesthouse in BAH with a few BA crews and our own people, as was the custom in those halcyon days...and it appeared it was the last trip for a BA captain.
During the speeches of praise, which became more and more colourful as the afternoon and evening progressed, it became clear that this gentleman had been heavily involved in the finding of the Bismarck! My memory, no doubt tarnished by both the Swan gargled that day and the passing years has him actually flying the aircraft which spotted Bismarck, but it may be faulty.
I do remember his nickname was Bismarck or a derivative....any help?
