Ek FTO?

Hi, this is my first post in this forum, I would like to know if Emirates airlines has her flight training centre in Dubai, if they have a cadet pilot program an if not will be possible in the future to become a pilot for Ek? I mean if there will be the opportunity to have a sponsorship to do an Atpl ab initio program. I'm asking that because I saw that some major airlines like cathay pacif have their own flight center and they make atpl courses for cadets... But unfortunately I haven't found anything similar about EK...

most major airline have there own cadet training program
like BA ..EK ...and others but in both EK and BA you have to be a
national to that country i.e emiraty or British

Emirates does have a cade program. Cadets do their CPL/IR and ATPL in Adelaide, Australia, then complete a jet transition in Dubai. However to be an Emirates ab-initio trainee, you have to be a U.A.E. national. As an expatriate, one can only join with (very)roughly 4000 hours flight time logged.

Thank you for your reply, unfortunately in Italy doesn't exit something like that :{ , only Alitalia has her own flight training center but actually they are no longer making new cadet course since 2001... :ugh:
The other italian airlines doesn't have a flight training centre and to take the Atpl you have to pay a quantity of money in some flight schools that don't guarantee you any kind of employ later...

Do you think that there will be the possibility that Ek will acept non UAE cadets in the future? I'm asking that because I know that they recruit cabin crew from all part of the world, maybe one day they would need also foreign cadets! I'm hoping that so much.... :sad:

You mean make the investment and take the risks that 90% of the worlds airline pilots have? Heaven forbid!

EK employ MANY different nationalities as pilots (I aint no Emiratee, that's for sure!!). However, they were all experienced pilots before they got here. If you are basing your career aspirations on the prospect of EK taking on Ab Initio cadets from overseas, you will be waiting a long time. The world is facing a looming pilot shortage and if you want to fly for a living, there are many avenues available to you.

It is unlikely that Emirates picking up the tab for your training will be one of them any time soon!!! (They don't evem take highley experienced Turbo-Prop pilots (YET!!)).
