I will renew my medical license soon and I would like to know if there is any good AME in Madrid. I need a doctor that is nice because if the doctor makes me nervous my blood pressure goes up.

I would also like to know if they issue the medical right away or do they send it by mail.

what kind of medical are you looking for ? a medical issued by DGAC or by CAA ?

I think you can have a look at caa website, there must be a list of caa doctors at madrid.

Otherwise, you can call DGAC and ask them if they know a nice doctor :zzz:

Try going to the Hospital de día Pío XII. Since it will be your first time going over there, they will make you a full medical. :eek:
If what you want is one of those medical were all they check is that you are alive, then you need to go over to the UK. :rolleyes:

do they issue the medical straight away or do they sent it to me by mail.

Just to clarify something. What I meant with "a nice doctor", was a doctor that takes his time and not rush through the examination. I need 5-10 minutes rest in order to bring down my blood pressure.

can someone please tell me where the link with AME in Madrid is?

don't worry Jimmy, you will be fine! the doctor will know you even better than yourself ! :)

Once again, if you go to CAA doctors, they will give your medical straight away, if you go to DGAC doctors, they will send it to you by post, and it might take at least 10 days :ugh: (unless they are getting faster than the used to be some years ago).

how do we say, " Have a good medical check up" ! :}

Thank you ICING AOA and Danita. That was the info I was looking for.

I have a DGAC JAA first class medical so I guess I will try the doctor at Aeropuerto de Cuatro Vientos. I know how to get there. :ok:

I am a little bit disappointed that they will not issue the license straight away:uhoh:

do not quote me, I might be wrong !
I only did the initial one at Barcelona at clinica Quiron, and it took them 2 weeks to send it to me by post, but it was about 3 years ago. (Had to do the full medical again because I had a french one but it was not "officially" JAR FCL 3, so Spanish DGAC did not want to deliver me my CPL licence without a JAA medical certificate :bored: :ugh: )

But, I remember some friends of mine did the renewal at Valencia and I think they had to wait also about 2 weeks to get the certificate by post. The thing is that the general doctor hast to send the result to DGAC at Madrid, and then DGAC send you the certificate !.... You know ! ... Spanish administration :hmm:

Maybe they have changed in the meantime, I don't know.

At least french DGAC and CAA give you the certificate straight away now !

Good luck, and enjoy greek Kebabs ! :}

Anybody knows this one?

"Centro de Instrucción de Medicina Aeroespacial (CIMA) (E-AMC-1001)"
Arturo Soria, 82
28027 Madrid
Teléfono: 914 101 300
Fax: 914 081 312

Are they easy going? Friendly?

Do they give the certificate the same day?

Thanks!

If you find out please let me know. The problem with CIMA is that they really rush you through the medical.

Yes, you can get your Medical License on the same day if you go to CIMA. Just make sure that you ask the doctor when s/he is going through the general test and you should be able to wait for it at the end of the session or come back for it in a couple of hours.
