to all u 757 pilots and EGCC flight planners

i fly man-tfs about ten times a year with TCX, MON and FCA and often wonder what a pilots perspective of this route is like. Departing manchester always seem to head towards ireland turn left and fly over ocean rather than land. is this a better routing for clearance or fuel efficient??? what are tenerife like to deal with on the radio. And why is it when on the return leg its always bumpy over the azores region..?? any comments appreciated

You will be flying over the oceanic routes known as the "Tangos" T14, T16, if the wind does not cause too much of a problem. These routes are a massive saving on overflight costs, for example it would cost about $250 each way for the ocean compared to a couple of grand over France and Spain.

Flow control, congestion relief, original French ATC strike breaking routes used by us back in the early 70s, then formalised.
