Hello everyone,

I would like to know the flying for hire situation in Ecuador. My Fiance has family there and she wants to spend 4 months to a year down there learning spanish and visiting. I have 350 TT and am Comm SEL,SES,MEL,Glider and Instrument.

Is Ecuador one of the places that allow forign pilots or would I be better off doing avionics work like I was doing a while back?

Im also looking to work in ecuador but finding information very hard to find.. I am newly qualified with ME/CPL/IR. I am married to an Ecuadorian and speak fluent Spanish so the work permit would not be a problem... does any one have any advice on how to find work??
thanks

Hi all,

You must have Ecuadorean Nationality to hold a comm/atpl licence in Ecuador. A work permit, sadly, is not enough. It has something to do with the fact that all for hire pilots in Ecuador are members of the Air Force Reserve, so you must pledge allegiance...

Maybe things will change in the future, but I honestly donīt think so.
