Do any of you folk know what it's like to work for REX , do you have to pay for an endorsment , and can you commute from one of their destinations as sydney is quite expensive and those park benches are starting to get cold at night.
Thanks,
Murray Cod.

Try using newpapers. They make a pretty good blanket.

Gidday Murray Cod,

There is rarely a day that I do not enjoy coming to work. Mind you I have always been easily pleased.

Seriously though, not a bad place to work IMHO.

Check out the website for the latest requirements, but maybe some of this will help.

You will not be charged for your endorsement.

You will be bonded for 2 years for $15K, reducing pro-rata. ie: leave after 12 months and you will owe $7.5K

Approx 228 pilots spread over 3 states, Bases in SY,ML,AD, WG, AY, LIS, ORG, DU, think that's all of them?

Some people try to commute if they don't get their original base of choice, can be difficult though. Movement is fairly brisk at the moment, so usually does not take too long.

Once checked to line, you'll take home approx $1400-$1600 per fortnight, Captains average approx $1,000 take home more.

Time to command at the moment around 3 years.

Good training and plenty of support.

Hope some of this helps,

Good Luck.

You don't have to pay for the SAAB endorsement, but you are bonded for 2 years ($15,000 last time I looked).

I guess like most other companies you could commute to Sydney, but you would have to weigh up the costs and additional time wasted in doing so. Their EBA states thet on a reserve day you have to be available to commence work within 2 hrs of getting called - so you may have to be in Sydney to acheive this.

For other conditions check out their EBA on wagenet.

Cheers,

Capt EFIS.

So what do you think would be competitive mins for them? I've read the required mins, just wondering what the real world mins are? i.e Are they taking people right at 500 MPIC?

Well some years ago they (Kendell) were turning people away with 5000 or more hours.

I guess that's changing now.

How about lifestyle??? Money's no good if you have no time to enjoy it!

What are the rosters like? Overnights? How many guys on each base (assuming SY ML AD far larger than the regional ports???)? Work most weekends?

Mostly interested to hear how the lifestyle compares between EAA/SS/REX...

Cheers guys.

At the moment things are pretty flat out with heaps of movement to j* and Virgin so most rosters are 8 days off of month with pretty much no reserve days. Tours range from 3 to 10 hrs per day of about 130hrs a month. Stick time ~ 80 hrs a month.

Interviews are ongoing and have heard that 500 hrs muli should do it.

The interview and sim check are pretty full on (but having said that are not privy to content)
