Arrived in Bne last night and noticed a 737-600 parked on bay# 47. I think the rego was VH-INU. It's only other identifying mark was "our Airline" painted on the top of fuselage rear of the o'wing exit. The paint scheme consisted of flowing blue ribbons.
Does anyone know who this belongs to and their purpose??

It's a 737-300 and "Our Airline" is the former Air Nauru

Thanks for that..............shouldn't they rebrand as "air Phoenix" as they seem to destroy themselves and re-birth on a regular basis!

Backed by Taiwanese fishing dollars and mixed in with Air Marshall Islands and Solomon Airlines I'm informed.

They've recently been doing charter trips into WPDL.

I believe Airlines PNG utilise this aircraft for their BNE-POM-BNE service after dropping OzJet.

Le Pilot,
you're absolutely right. They run the airline just well enough to pay for the Brisbane based pilots and management salaries, but not the local Nauru staff. So well done in that area.
Buster Hyman,
not entirely accurate. Maybe it should have been called 'Their Airline', ie not the Nauruans. All else spot on.

When Ro***ts made the airline structure a corporation, NLK charters paid local salaries & Australian costs. Australian generated funds were at least available to keep things operating. The big costs (leases, engineering, fuel, insurances) still had to be approved by Felix & funds begged, borrowed etc from within the Island to keep ON running. NAC is still only half way to being self-sufficient.

Doing charter work is it? I saw it in Richmond (NSW) a couple of months ago, filling in for a broken seven-o I'm told.

Noticed VH-INU sitting on a bay in Changi recently as I passed through. Where was it going?

wow - who would have thought that we'd spot an aircraft

I happened to recognise the aircraft from when I flew on it once from Sydney to Norfolk Island. It stuck in my mind seeing it is their only aircraft. You seem to think that strange, Skystar320.

MIss Behaviour,

Airlines PNG have a codeshare arrangement with Virgin Australia / Pacific Blue for their 4 weekly BNE POM BNE service.

Where was it going?

I know, but it wouldn't be "sporting" of me to say. Some would accuse me of "tall" stories.

Resume etc: I think it's to do with the start date of this thread. Miss Behaviour was correct at the time of her post - ON did the PNG stuuff before DJ.

Patagonia etc: ON actually has two aircraft, not one. Don't worry about anything Sky320 says - he agrees with nothing and would begrudge just about every one something. He's just a grumpy-old-man.

Speaking of Mis-bevaiour ;)

Is a certain rather attractive, agent provocateur First Officer still there?

We have all lost track of her, and are worried she'll appear in a seat near us real soon???:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Our Airline aka Air Nauru, is a well kept secret, a good operation with highly trained crews operating to a high standard. They get paid well, and so they should! They don't say much because it's a select job and they like to keep it to themselves. Hope I haven't blown it for them! :ok:

with highly trained crews operating to a high standard.

Careful with the expansive accolades because such statements can come back to bite you. It seems only yesterday when their 737 started the take off roll with flaps up at Brisbane. No problem though they got the flaps to the correct setting by V1. Embarrassing little things like that happen with most airlines at some time or another.:ok:
