Hello All,

Got an e-mail from a friend, TAP Portugal is currently recruiting.

They are seriously looking for Type Rated and Non-Rated pilots due to fleet expansion, they have even reduced their hour requirements from 300 to 240 hours!!!

Portuguese language is a must, but you can always give it a try, you never know.

That is for Portuguese only, TAP give preference to portuguese pilots and you have to know someone inside ( very inside ).

Thx

It doesn't say Portuguese only pilots to apply! If you know the "lingo" (Portuguese) then it is ok, although I agree with you that they would give preference to Portuguese pilots.

Another Portuguese carrier have similar requirements to TAP Portugal with regards to language requirements, and guess what they have? American, Spanish and English pilots...

It’s a constant changing environment.

There's specialist websites for that sort of thing.

With the search function not allowing a search for the word "TAP" it is difficult to find out if there has been any discussion recently regarding this airline. I am interested to find out what the general job market is like for pilots in Portugal, and realistically what it would take to land a job with TAP Air Portugal. Their site lists 300 hours minimum, but it would be good to find out what is really going on there from people in the know.

Finally, what can we expect in the next few years in Portugal in terms of flying jobs?
