I just watched a documentary about the BA 747 that had a 4 engine failure when it sucked in volcanic ash over Indonesia. I've tried to find pics of this pebble dashed lump, but failed, anyone know of any?

Aviate 1138 found just this......
The BA 747 flown by Capt Eric Moody had Rolls Royce RB211-524C2 -19 engines.

There was also a book written by one of the passengers

"All four engines have failed" by Betty Tootell. Try a search on Amazon or the like if you want to find it.

The book has some pretty good pictures in it....especially the sandblasting effect on the landing lights. Also goes into exactly what was going on in the cockpit at the time and how frustrated the pilots were getting without knowing what was going on.
