First let me say what a wealth of information this forum has provide to so many, myself especially. My gratitude to the administration and all those who contribute!! Keep up the good work :D
Many a discussion has taken place on this topic, but I have two sincere questions to those who “actually” have constructive feedback.
1)What fleet are Non Type Rated DECs hired onto in 2007 at QR?
2)Are there “any” happy pilots left at QR? (I am not looking to save millions in Doha and I've read all the neg. stuff already) :bored:

LANDGREEN MAN!!

The one who try to convince themself to be happy here,(mainly) are those who doesn´t have the opportunity to go work elsewhere.

Well if you read other threads on this site you'll see their not happy at Cathay, Dragon, British Airways, Emirates, Etihad, Jet Airways, China Airways, low cost airways...etc,etc,etc...seems like very few people are happy anywhere anymore these days

Hard to believe some of the stuff I read..."If" I was that unhappy at(QR/EK/CX..and so on) as most posts..I would leave as opposed to venting on a public forum. Nothing is worth all that anger, esp. when we DO have choices, and in the meanwhile, we're doing what we love:8
Thanks for not turning my post into a QR bashing...Still hoping to get an answer to my original 2 questions:ok:

Been here 6 years now, its not perfect but is anywhere? I have always been fairly treated on checks and in the simulator. I fly new equipment over a varied, interesting and expanding network. Its exciting with new aircraft, new routes and more passengers each month. I enjoy a quiet life in Doha with a small circle of good friends. My colleagues are generally good to work alongside and I've always enjoyed working in a multi cultural environment. QR does in my opinion have a really good product in the cabin. The flight ops management does its best given the person they have to answer to and are in my experience largely mature and easy to deal with.

Money wise we've had a 60% increase in the time I've been here, the rents are ridiculas and you wont get rich here, but money is not my primary motivation any more.

Dont come here if you want to save thousands each month, don't come here if you expect your life to be exactly the same as home and you'll need to accept the safety net of union and employments law as you know it is gone.

Rosters on the A330 are tough as well

Overall Im happy with my lot here, just my opinion

Appreciate your honesty and insight!! :ok:
True enough...Nothing in life is "perfect" esp. jobs.... Sometimes "even" the ones in your own country.

Any idea what type DECs are being interviewed for?

What a pleasure to read something positive on Qatar Airways. Thanks guys for giving a bit of sunshine where it is due. Its all about decisions. You make life what it is anywhere in the world.
