Hi

Not done an initial recently and dont know about JAA prices but...

At Flightsafety I think a CII recurrent is about $7500 at the moment, Single Pilot Waiver ranges from $11,200 to $16,200 depending on the variant and there is no diffrence in rpice for an initial or recurrent.

For an initial your best option will be CAE Dallas, if I remenber correctly 14000 USD.

I'm going to start mine in 3 days. CAE Dallas quoted me about $16200 and said it would take 21 days. Flight safety (US) quoted $16200 and then knocked it down to $14800 because i booked through a company that has already sent their pilots to FSI.

Flight safety in paris quoted €15000 which is about $19400!! Then get this . . I was told I needed a jet initiation course lasting two days prior to the initiall. You start on wednesday take thursday off work friday then take sat and sun off prior to type rating proper. Then the rating takes 3 weeks as they take their weekends seriously here. So at the end of the day the rating in paris would take almost a month.

United States option . . . . . 12 days (only sunday off) and $4000 cheaper!

However, make damn sure that you have a machine readable passport! :ugh:

:yuk: :yuk: :yuk: :yuk: This is how I felt standing in frankfurt departures being told that there was no way I was going to the states. :(

Try prestosim in Dallas I've heard you can get in down to as cheap as 5000 usd. This is pretty good info since I live in DFW.

Whatever you do, don't go to FSI at Paris. Go to the USA, it will be cheaper, quicker and you will have compedent instructors.

There is one negative and that is the TSA thing which you will need up to 30 days to be cleared.
