Hi all,

I'm asking on behalf of a friend of mine who's working at a quite-well known Central-European airline. The question is if any of you know any company in Western Europe where he could get a JAR license of an a/c mechanic, since he's been working for 3 years by now on 737NGs as avionics technician, but the company didn't send him to get his own license (presumably because they're afraid that he'd just leave them then). The other problem is that the local authority is not JAA certified yet and he'd like to have a JAA license...
Thanks a lot!

Try...

www.easa.eu.int

Check the Front Page for countries already members of EASA and choose preferred language.

Search for Regulation "2042/2003" Part 66 is in this Regulation.
Your friend would be looking for a B2 Licence.
Check the syllabus/qualifications required and the training time required.

If your friend is on track for all these things he may be elligible for a Licence if he takes exams in a Member State of his choice, He MAY have to remain within that Member State's system for some time afterwards.

Best of Luck
