Cape Town - Western Cape Premier Ebrahim Rasool has proposed in his state of the province speech that the Cape Town airport be renamed after liberation fighter James la Guma.

Trade unionist la Guma, died in 1961.

The plan would form part of a campaign over the next few months to ensure the heroes and heroines of all communities, cultures and groups were honoured in public spaces, he said.

Heard it was to be named after Musifane Andile Sepuse, a little known freedom fighter and hero of the struggle.
