Guys any contributions would be welcome.

Why is it that a pax with a passport that has been studied by a consulate, found to be genuine and has had a visa issued within it,can then have the immigration authority, issue a fine against the airline the pax used, because they are of the opinion that the passport is of low quality/sub standard?

Since pax especially in Africa pay visa fees, should it not be the visa issuing consulate, and not the airline that should pay the fine?

Why are pax with genuine visas for travel to a destination, being returned and THE AIRLINE FINED because another endorsement on a previouse visit to the same destination,or another different destination is found to be irregular?
Isnt that penalising the airline for some other immmigration authority's error?Does this seem to have equity or balance to any of you?

I look forward to your comments or observations while on the job concerning this issue.

Why should an airline be penalised for valid travel documents being destroyed on board an aircraft by a pax before reaching his/her destination?

Why should an airline be penalised if a transit pax on arrival in the transiting airport, decide they will attempt to enter that country for whatever reason. The pax is denied entry, the airline the pax used to enter the transit airport is fined, and the pax continues with their jour ney.Is that fair,or does it make equitable commercial sense?

Is it right that an airline should be penalised financially, where a pax has travel documents that contain genuine visa stickers with all security features placed within it,that has been fraudulently obtained?
Should it not be the issuing authority that granted the permit that should pay that fine?
Are airline staff now expected to be immigration officers, then why have immigration at airports?
Airlines are being forced by financial inducements to do jobs their governments should be having their representatives providing via such harsh financial penalties, that could adversely affect financial fortunes of most African carriers.
