I've been working on an excel spreadsheet to calculate weight and balance for the astar, but I'm away from work this week, so I don't have access to a flight manual.
So far I've based the numbers on someone else's spreadsheet I downloaded from (a heli website which will remain nameless), so I have no idea if they're correct.
So, if you're bored, I could use longitudinal and lateral arms for the following stations (or just confirmation that the ones in the spreadsheet are correct, and are the same for all variants (i.e. ba, b2, b3)):
PILOT
CO -PILOT / FRONT PAX
REAR PAX - R
REAR PAX - RC
REAR PAX - LC
REAR PAX - L
HOOK
BAGGAGE RIGHT
BAGGAGE LEFT
BAGGAGE REAR
DART BASKET (or similar)
Additionally, I need:
weight vs. longitudinal cg envelope numbers for the BA (pictured in the current chart -- maybe), B2,and B3
the max gross wt. allowed with external / external loads in these types & applicable envelope info
max loads for the various baggage compartments
other stuff I have thought of yet - let me know
The current (beta) version of the spreadsheet is available here (http://jp.random.googlepages.com/WB_AS350.xls), but it still needs work. The nice thing is that you can enter a list of helicopters and their numbers on the second tab, and if it's working right, you can now select that ship from the dropdown menu on the first page, and quickly see if a given load may work better with a different ship in the fleet.
Anyway, if you'd like to send me any of the requested info or any advice on improving the spreadsheet you can email me at [email protected].
When I get a more complete version, I'll re-post it for those who are interested.
Thanks!
