Guys, if you go to one of these big schools in the US for an FAA conversion (3hrs + groundschool + flight test fees) How much coin is this going to set one back?

I think CA = Canada as a location as opposed to Ca. = California.

Hmm, Canada? California? - close enough!
I'd check on individual prices, but you're not looking at much more than $250 an hour dual ad $300-600 for a check ride.
Just out if interest - as of December 1st there is a straight conversion for Airplanes: As long as you have 250hrs you just need to do the written test and they give you an FAA commercial. No flight or oral.
The FAA and TCCA are working on a similar scheme for helicopters.

Anyone know what is required for an Aussie to work in Canada. Not sure if they recognise any of our licenses.

Little Fish - full conversion costing about $5K Canuk. There are also requirements for IFR training etc. Contact Chinook Helicopters in Abbotsford.
Rudestuff - how likely is it that there will be a Canadian to USA licence swap in the near future? Do you know any further info??
It would be just my luck to pay for it all and they announce the deal...

If you've already got ME IFR experience with a few renewals does it count towards the requirements or would there still be additional IFR requirements.

Your guess is as good as mine as to when they decide to extend it to us lot - but at least they're talking to each other.
You never know - maybe the JAA will jump on board?

I was quoted USD2500 including accommodation & transport for full conversion by Mauna Loa helicopters in Hawaii, if that helps.
