To be fair, the article says
On one occasion, a passenger tried to open a door shortly before take-off while a flight circling around Delhi was forced to make an emergency landing after a group of passengers approached the cockpit to complain.
That is, a passenger tried to open a door while the aircraft was still on the ground.
However, point taken. Perhaps it's time to expand the safety brief.
Something else in the article did catch my attention...
India is one of the world's fastest-growing aviation markets, but the surge in demand has led to chaotic scenes on flights, with some people struggling to overcome their nerves and adapt to flying etiquette.
I find "etiquette" an odd choice of words here as (to me anyway) it implies a lack of appropriate manners rather than a failure to be aware of, understand, and follow some pretty specific rules governing behavior. The reporter sees fit to use the word "chaotic" earlier in the sentence, but then lays blame at the feet of nerves and etiquette problems. I think "chaotic" is a good choice, given how quickly things can go to hell when pax run wild. The use of "etiquette" a few words later just undermines that.
I guess I just continue to be irritated about the lack of appropriate consequences for bad/dangerous behavior among pax in the US. Gets on my nerves constantly.
