It's too much of a cliche to say they are getting fewer but, inevitably, they are. Remarkably though, there are still 140 of the wonderful gentlemen still reasonably active and still taking part when they can in the Battle of Britain Fighter Pilots Association activities.

As more of these men pass away, it becomes more important for us to keep their memory alive. One of Canada's remaining Spitfire pilots died last week in Toronto. On January 29, 2007, Ian Keltie, DFC, RCAF ret. passed away at 86 years of age. He flew 75 sorties, and was one of the first to land in France after the Normandy Invasion.
