Hi there,

I was wondering if one has to bear the cost of the type rating when joining an airline in India, or does the airline bear the cost, and make the candidate sign a bond ? (BTW, I am an Indian national with a CASA CPL/CIR, willing to convert to an Indian licence).

Any feedback in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Well as far as i know(i coud be wrong) Jet airways asks for 7 lakhs upfront for their boeing endorsements.

Rest all like Kingfisher, spicejet etc etc ask for post dated cheques for a period of 5 years i think.

AI and IC will recover type ratin costs from your salary and also i think you will have to stay with IC for 10 years after absorption as trainee pilot.

cheers.
