of course there is no conclusive answer but here goes anyway.

Just recently obtained full South African ATPL. Am looking at obtaining a biz jet rating - own funding - and then trying my luck in the corporate market place. I believe the middle east has a booming corporate biz jet market.

Firstly is it worth the risk to finance my own rating? and if so, any particular jet which would maximize my employment opportunities (eg hawker 800)??

Try and do some research on where you would like to be based and what the most popular biz jets based around there are.

For example here in the UK, there are lots of B200's, CJ's etc but not many heavy jets.
