The Napoli Incident

One for the heavy lifters.....With the Maritime and Coastguard Agency saying that offloading the hundreds of containers by barge crane from the grounded Napoli off Devon will take months ,did anyone consider or offer using a Mil Mi26 helicopter.Just seems to me that it would be a lot quicker !
I know helos are used for this work in the icy north but maybe the Napoli is more precarious ?

Im no expert, but I imagine the cargo has already been 'written off' by the underwriters and its just an excercise to recover the salvage.

Therefore cost will outweigh speed and barges are probably more cost effective.
