Exemption 6175 in the Ops Specs refers to required training. Among this required training is a section that specifies training for a pilot to make their own weather observations in order to determine minimums for an IFR departure. I am looking for a training course, modules, video or anything that will help satisfy this requirement. To the pilots that are using 6175, what is your company using? Any help would be appreciated.

Exemption 6175:

Take a sheet of light blue cardboard. Cut from it a rectangle, exactly 5cm by 9 cm. Using a hole punch of exactly 5mm diameter, make a hole in the exact centre of the cardboard rectangle.

Hold it up to the sky. If the sky visible through the hole matches the cardboard, go flying.:suspect:

FlightSafety used to teach a class that qualified for the 6175 Exemption. I would check there first. Most 135's have a independent class to meet the requirements of 6175 in thier training.
