Practice forced-lob, hit wires -

A small plane crashed in the Hekpoort area near Hartebeespoort on Thursday. The plane was apparently coming in for an emergency landing on an open field on a farm, apparently part of a training exercise, when it flew into power lines that could not be seen from the air. The plane struck the lines and dove nose first in the ground. Since the accident happened in a remote area and because it would take road crews some time to reach the scene, a Netcare 911 helicopter was dispatched to the scene. The pilot and passenger were both seriously injured and the pilot was airlifted to a Pretoria hospital.

I'm not a pilot but surely you look out for the poles the wires are on?I mean the wires just dont hang there in mid air?Or is it not as easy as that?

Its not that easy, at 1000ft AGL you don't see these type of things
