Question for anyone in QF. I'm hoping to travel NRT-BNE 27th Feb return 14th Mar. Gozed.com states the QF flights as embargoed.... Can anyone confirm or deny for me please.:ugh:

I think you'll find it's embargoed because it's not a QF aeroplane operating the service. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's a JAL flight that QF codeshares on.

I flew back from there just last week. A code shared JAL 747-300. Can't beat the JAL service. 02:30, I hit the call button for another Fleur du Tarn (French white wine), and someone is by my side in a flash with a smile on her face. Very impressive. Definately get to the airport early to snag an upperdeck exit row. The Japaneese don't seem to like the emergency exit rows. Must be like tempting fate.

You can do a QF flight NRT-CNS-BNE. It leaves NRT about 2 hours earlier and arrives at about the same time in BNE. If you don't mind a wierd fish dish or a pastry with meat thing for breakfast, I would highly recommend JAL.

QF360, the only nonstop is indeed a QF codeshare on JAL metal - a 743 to be precise. QF168 is rat metal and as mentioned operates over Cairns. Both are daily and QF168 is operated by 763 equipment.

Best regards

Do this every year. You don't need to list on JL flights ex NRT, just turn up at the desk about 1hr before departure. There will be no queue because the Japanese and Aussies check in about 6 hours before departure. It is the last flight to leave south bound so the terminal is pretty empty. In my experience, if they don't put you on straight away you probably won't get on. Unfortunately the back up QF330's to Sydney have already left at 2000 and 2010. So it's back to the Horrible Inn. If you work for a large British Airline based at LHR, we used to be able to go NRT CNS BNE but now the QF168 and QF060 are "operated by AO on behalf of QF" and we dont get concessions. You can go ANZ via AKL but it a long way round. Regards, Hobo
