Hi

When i finish downloading a pdf file that contains links within the document itself to other pdf files ,an error message comes up "could not open the file xyz.pdf".

When i move the mouse pointer over the blue and underlined text it changes to a pointing finger. But when i click it the above said error appears.

Could anybody say what i am doing wrong here and solutions please.

Thanks.

I had exactly the same problem last week.
I totally deleted the version of Adobe reader I had (7.0), and downloaded the latest version. 8.0
http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/

That sorted it out.

Either the easy solution as above or......:

This can happen if the documents pointed to by the click-able hyperlink in your pdf are not where they are supposed to be - ie within same directory as your pdf file (relative path -easy fix) or hard-coded directory in the link (absolute path).

If I am making no sense at all, here's to 419's solution being the answer. :ok:

Good Luck!

Worth downloading version 8 as it fixes innumerable and enormous, gaping security flaws in v.7. Allegedly.

It certainly looks nicer (IMHO) ;)

I hated 8 - far prefer 7.09!
