Oh Yes. I have had talk with several friends in PA and they all say that whatever has been posted in this forum is still true. Mr.T appear to be a cool cucumber and main culprit who sets his employees against each other. He is a fourth generation entreprenuer who knows nothing about airline. He is better of running his textile mills. He is a rich kid who has inherited quite a fortune from his fore fathers and still thinks he is a monarch. He makes everyone from GM to office boys to slave for him. Any one carrying his travel bag, and coconuts are his favourite. From what i have head, he keeps changing his decisions. Sits in Madurai and operates while all other staff of his are put in CO Chennai. Every single decision is made by him. His wify manages In Flight magazine.....:-)

There is no full time CEO. There was one expat CEO who was tricked and sent back home in 3 months time (all work and no pay makes jack a dull boy). Then the churn at their leadership team is testimony to this. His entire HR team has bailed out except for one or two junior kids.

No ground equipments, no career planning, no performance appraisal, no funds from the banks, no clear vision and mission and the list goes on and on.

EE are kicked at the drop of the cap. They have a fast TAT on EE exit.

The expat Engineers and Pilots are a frustuated lot and are waiting for one good opportunity to come by their way from another airline.

In short its comedy of errors.

Page me to get to know more .....

Hi

Hmmmm. Seems like sour grapes to me. Paramount has certainly done a lot of cleaning up lately. Seems MD Thiagarajan stepped on quite a few toes while cutting off the driftwood.

Paramount is one of the most highly respected airlines in the country and the reputation of its MD is impeccable down South. He is known as truly a son of the soil.

As a pilot, working with the airline, let me clarify that this is one of the best places to work in India today. We have a young, very dynamic man at the helm here. Paramount has exceeded market share of even Jet and Kingfisher in the South. It won’t be long before that is repeated in North.

I’m glad to be around to grow with the airline. The advisor Jack was a joke. (He was never announced as CEO though. Doddering old man who knew nothing of how airline business work in India. I’m glad he was sent back before his decisions began to seriously affect the airline. :D Good decision that. But this is a man who seems to have made the right moves all along. Steady expansion, good brand building, quality service in-flight and on the ground. The man runs a tight ship and is extremely decisive about his actions. Thiagarajan is a licensed pilot himself and understands what it is to fly. For that one reason alone, I’d respect him, the numerous awards the airline has won in just two years notwithstanding. I believe this is a great atmosphere to work and the growth of Paramount is going to take India by storm.

Loyal paramount pilot

Have heard some interesting stories of him from pilots he flew with and those that refused to fly with him :)

From what i understand he is an excelent doctor of documents. All his employment stints are only a few months long i.e the time it takes the employer to realise its mistake.

PS. Dont miss the self acclaimed 'Self Made Person' title on his website.

Apart from some of the posts on this forum, so far I have only heard good thngs about Paramount Airways- India..... I am thinking of taking up a command position with Paramount (non type rated) Could you kindly advise the current payment terms (local), annual leave, benefits, any bond/ return of servise agreements. What about rosetring & day to day operations? Maintenance & general company financial performance? Most importantly are they FINANCIALLY STABLE?

Would greatly appreciate any LATEST (end 2008 till now) input as most of the posts are back dated 06 & 07.

Brgds.

I"m an expat flying in India for another carrier, (right now on leave out of the country) but 3 days ago while "in-country" I read in a Indian newspaper that Paramount was planning on hiring a whole bunch of pilots in the next two years, starting right now, more than 250. Seems they are getting a considerable increase in the fleet - so says the article.

What do I know about them? Virtually nothing. What I've heard, from the Indian FO's, is that they think its not a good company. Things seem to have settled down in India with the near panic last summer and fall in the business decline and fuel price increases but no Indian carrier is financially stable. There's a blog sort of thing called Indian Aviation, or words close to that, that catalogs most Indian aviation articles on a daily basis, so you could check into that, too. Hope that helps.

I KNOW nothing about their plans. I do know they haven't changed in size; seem to be operating three airplanes. They may have been operating more when I first got here (two years ago), but if so they shrank pretty soon after I arrived. Every couple of months I hear some grandiose pronouncement regarding their expansion plans; the most recent one was a press release a week or so ago. Nothing concrete has actually ever happened.
