Just heard that a First Choice B757 has gone off the runway at CPH. No pax on board was on a training flight. Ploughed a nice furrow in the mud with the nose gear. BA sending out a crash team to help.

It was indeed a 757 from First Choise, but not at CPH. The incident took place at EBJ - Esbjerg. Resulting in FR from STN being diverted to AAR, leaving pax stranded. (Why FR did not go to BLL 50km, rather than AAR 250km away away is mystery!:ugh: )
According to deputyairportmanager crew was "not paying attention" as they were turning the aircraft after having backtracked along runway to start take-off. Nosegear got stuck outside runway in very wet (drenched) grass area, and subsequently sunk into the ground.

Excellent, glad to know that the airport manager has already discovered the cause of the incident, saves having a proper investigation.

Sorry, I got the deputyairport managers quote a bit wrong:
here is it in Danish: http://ekstrabladet.dk/112/article259981.ece
"It appears they weren't quite awake" was what he is reported as saying:rolleyes:

You'll probably find the pax wanted to go to Billund but in typical Ryanair fashion they took them somewhere more remote.:}

Might be that AAR is the number 1 commercial alternate!

No way. BLL is just up the road, and FR flies there 8 times a week allready. going to AAR makes no sense, other than to be a prat to the punters

going to AAR makes no sense

Maybe it makes no sense to you, but it made a lot of sense to someone. Airliners usually divert after consultation with company on radio or ACARs. So rather than imply they are being 'Ryanair' or just bloodyminded, say you don't understand it, but not 'it' makes no sense!

Has EBJ become a regular for training now or just a one off?

Probably due to high winds in the UK yesterday!

A First Choice 757 landed in Dublin last night with no steering, went off the runway onto a taxiway had to be towed away...

Check out the ATC archive for EIDW between 7pm and 8pm if your interested

The aircraft was in command by a F.C. Tree, who was training four new students. They had to go to Denmark as nowhere else was suitable in the UK due to the strong winds. It is assumed that when the aircraft slid off the runway, the female trainee was in the right hand seat training.

This is interesting; that is the latest reference to a 'female pilot' or such. I don't usually notice references the individuals involved being male although they, probably, usually are.
I am not a rampant feminist and I wear the trousers; just trying to be objective.

Well said!!
I personally know the 'female' in question!! A VERY competent SFO, and a VERY respected colleague amongst her work mates!! Also the fact that she is a she should and has nothing to do with it!! Come on guys!!
FCA captains do all the taxiing by the way!!
A/C removed over night, positioned out and training continued!! ::rolleyes:

I know the 757 returned to Manchester, so guess it came from there too, but unconfirmed.

From the photo's it looks like the left main gear was very close to being off the paved surface as well. One wonders what the view from the cockpit was like during this manoeuvre...

Speaking of "female pilots" check what this controller (http://archive-server.liveatc.net/cy...CYYZ-Toronto-Dec-20-2006-0330Z.mp3) had to say. The juicy bits don't start until the 29th min. He is on suspension pending a full inquiry.
