Hi there,

Just interested in any comments from Kiwis who have left home to join EK.

1. Would you rather be back here flying in NZ?
2. Do you get back here much while on tour?
3. Would you leave Air NZ / or did leave Air NZ to join EK, as I would have to (although I am close to the bottom of the seniority list)
4. Knowing what you know now about EK do you think you would have stayed on the slow road down here? ie. 10years to 737(300) command, 20years to a widebody command.

Commands where happening here pretty quick recently but has come to a stop now, with the word that no new hires for 3 years or so.

Any comments on life in NZ as opposed to EK welcome.

By the way I have read most of the threads here, so am aware of the general unhappiness in EK.
Im just trying to get a comparison from any one who has worked for Air NZ, or knows the conditions and pay we have as opposed to EK

Thanks

Come by all means. But you'll be homesick in ten minutes. What about your friends, family, hobbies? It's not all about being a Captain of a big shiny jet you know. And El Dorado it most certainly is not.
