Not CC myself, but with the pax airlines I have worked for the rule is no visible tatoos.
Others here that fly will advise you further I am sure.

No visible tatoos is the requirement with many airlines. As long as it doesn't show when you're wearing your uniform, it shouldn't be a problem ie. none on the face, neck, forearems and other areas the uniform might not cover.

However I was thinking:
"If i donīt say that I have a tatto, how would they know if this is not visible with the uniform??"
Do they see my whole body naked at any stage?, for instance if I have to do a swimming test or the medical.

A stewardess with the airline I flew for had a little dolphin tattoo on her shoulder. She covered it with a neat sticking plaster when on duty and that was deemed permissible.

Abdomen,

I doubt they would even ask you if you have one so I wouldn't tell them, it would be stated in the terms and conditions that they are not to be visible. I recently had a flight with a carrier here in Australia however where the CM was wearing the short sleaved polo and every time he stretched or leant over his arm tattoo was clearly visible, not really a good look. Although you can do your best to try and hide it some uniform designs just don't cover it all so that is a consideration. Many FA's have tats, me included, companies know this. If it's on your shoulder though I would just forget it's there and go in for an interview with confidence.

I remember doing wet drills once when we all have to get into our swimming gear, we were all worried about this, turned out even the trainers had them!!

i wouldnt worry.. if its not visible in your interview and therefore in your potential uniform its not visible at all so if they ask you if you have visible tattoos you can say no.

there are plenty more obvious places to have tattoos that can cause a problem with work uniforms - and i know tons of tattooed FAs that hide it well.
If your work uniform is a white shirt.. just be concious that you may need to wear an undershirt as sometimes white cotton shirts are almost see through.

I have a tattoo on my lower back and have worked for BMI and am now starting with Virgin tomorrow, they were all fine about it, provided it is covered up whilst in uniform its fine! At BMI if you have any on your arms you just had to wear a long sleave shirt! Hope this helps! x

i had an interview with Virgin on Thursday and had to fill out a form where one of the questions asked if i had any tattoos and if i did would i be able to cover them so that they are not apparant.

so i wouldnt worry about it- but do be honest coz when you have a swimming test they'll find out anyway!

Good man, and good luck. But really if they disqualified you for that I would definately have a dispute. "A non tattooed person over me", just wont work. We FA's come in all packages, it's just the uniform that makes us look respectable for the job. Thats why we wear a "uniform" and adhere to certain grooming guidelines. They are there to make us all look pure, clean, and presentable. Out side of work is none of their business. However I will say that on layovers you do represent the company you fly for and a certain degree on tactfulness is expected.

I had 4 tattoos, 1 on each arm, 1 on the left ankle and 1 on my right shoulder. My trainers (I'm currently a student taking Flight Attendant Preparatory Course in Malaysia) also told me the same thing, just say no when they ask if you have a visible tattoo or not. Coz they asked "IF VISIBLE" so shouldn't be a problem. I am very confident when I attend my Etihad' interview but unfortunately I still failed. Nevertheless, I took the experience as 1 step closer to success..... Good luck 2 all of ya"
