Gday all!

Just been looking at NAIPS and BOM site for the result of what the media have been calling the perfect storm. - Dodgey title I know!

Looks like many licenced strips have been knocked out for a bit, just to name a few;

Darlot
Leonora
Laverton
Southern Cross
Sunrise Dam
Lake Johnston

There must be a bagfull of unlicenced strips out there that will be u/s for a while.

The perth charter market would take a beating after so many being closed!

The ESP 2130WDT METAR;

041230Z AUTO 21033G50KT //// Q995 RF1.2/158.0

158mm of rain since 9am! thats full on! in the 24hrs to 9am today they had an additional 49mm of rain!

Hopefully not too many people had anything damaged in the storm!

Tiss a tad on the damp side up here. :eek:
Have seen it wetter in a shorter time frame though. News must be very slow for them to be reporting a little rain as earthshattering news. :rolleyes:

Just looked at the observations on the BoM site for ESP looks like they had wind gusts to 90kts before the station got damaged!

Skywest would have had a fun time of it!

Anybody know any other major unlicenced strips that is u/s. I assume its most of the eastern wheatbelt?

We only had one day that was unflyable, and half a dozen or so strips that where unusable here in the Goldfields. :eek: Twas a nice little drop. but not enough to worry about. never got enough to settle the dust in the Kimberly's apparently. :hmm:

From the BOM site. "The 2006/2007 tropical cyclone season outlook is based on cooler than average sea surface temperatures about northern Australia and current climate patterns in the Australian and south Pacific region. These patterns are typical of the developing phase of an El Niņo event."
Sounds like you had better get used to it Tin.:{

The morning Skywest flight to ESP was cancelled, not sure about the afternoon flight.
Skywest will not land when the wind speed at an airport is 50 kts or greater.

I'm a bit of a bottom bloke Tin.:O I was gonna linger around Indian Island in Bynoe, launch at the end of Barra drive. But you are right, Middle arm is good, I even have some secret reefs I go bounce on there.

Secret rules of the Sandpeople.

"They say, anyone who tries to land in wind above 50 knots will die. It's like a farm you can buy in the sky"

"Engineer people say the 50 knot barrier can't be broke. Ask me, the danged thing dont even exist"
