For anyone who lost, friends, family or loved ones with this event

I hope that you, like I can at least move on, never forget them but with the passage of time, learn to forgive

I flew on Speedbird 095, CYYZ to EGLL on Dec 23 1988 and remember this event well as a youngster. I do recall my Parents leaving their wills on the dresser draws before we left. May sound silly, but it was certainly a worry to my parents at the time.

My flight was delayed that night by two hours, bad computer part or something, and they waited for a spare from Air Canada off another 747. Missed the shuttle from EGLL to EGCC that day, even though we were told they would hold the flight to Manchester. Got 10 pounds in food vouchers for my parents and I had a bowl of cereal, and cheese and onion crisps for breakfast. Came to 7 pounds as I recall. Bleedin expensive even by 1988 standards.

I knew most of the crew and happened to be on the next morning PAA flight out of Frankfurt to JFK.

Most of that crew knew those on PAA103.

We all wondered what might happen climbing out over the North Sea?

It is ironic that this month most PAA employees employed on the day of the airlines final demise will finally be getting some sort of retirement payment due to Libya paying some $30M compensation to the airline trustees!
