Why is it that apparently on large aircraft they have brake pins which then tell you when the brakes need renewing, yet on the C172 and PA44 there do not appear to be any pins.

Should this be moved?

No need, because an inspection by Mk.1 eyeball and perhaps a torch will do nicely. It's not as if you are trying to gauge the thickness of a six+ stack of rotors and stators or whatever a brake pack is called these days.

P.S. Don't tell me you ran out of pad and scored a disk?

Just wait until the brake pisses out red fluid. Then you know it needs new pads....or you have some other (most likely more expensive) problem :ok: :}

Pass-A-Frozo's suggestion is much better then mine. What do you need brakes for anyway? Just means your landing to fast :}
