Has anyone got any info of what happened with VH-OJA recently (possibly yesterday). I heard it had an undercarriage problem on takeoff ex-SYD and dropped some bits on the runway. Rumour has it that it flew on to AVV with gear down, as it was going for maintenance anyway! Could this be possible, or just someone spinning me a yarn.:=
Also how come the media didn't pick up on, it if true. Actually truth probably wouldn't be the main consideration if they saw a story in it. Maybe a board member with some swing in the media may have said to leave it alone :oh:

Heard last night that the tilt actuator bolt had fallen out leaving the gear unable to be retracted due to the switch contact not being made. Decision was made to keep flying to Avalon due to the fact the check was going to work the gear anyway.

Dont know any of the technical details, but the fact that the gear would be down for the whole flight was known, and coordinated all the way through, some hours before departure.

It made an air return with the gear problem, and left for AVV a day late... seemingly with the wheels down and bolted!
