View Full Version : Is US$80k Enough?

I got offered a job operating out of the new Suleymani airport in Northern Kurdistan on a Hawker 125. They reckon that US$80k per annum 2months on 2weeks off is enough.

Anyone operating in a similar kind of operation, what are the terms?

What is it like working out of Iraq?

What is the security situation like in that area?

Anyone know any other flight deck crew who might be interested?

We need to make sure were not getting seen off out there.

Thanks

Marcus

is that 60 days on without a break? $80k is not enough for that. that's 274 days on a year, more than 5 on 2 off (that's 265). Under $300 a day. not good enough imho, especially for where it's based.

I wasn't clear on that. Its 2 months in country then with two weeks out. The actual time flying hasn't been specified yet.

Wouldn't get out of my sleeping bag for less than $1000 per diem in that neck of the woods.

Marcus ~~~

A friend of mine accepted a similar-sounding PIC job in that part of the world during October. Two months in-country, two weeks out.

If I remember correctly, total flight hours are not to exceed 400 during the one-year contract term.

While he's not flying the Hawker, it's an equivalent airframe, and the FO pay is 80K plus other compensation usually paid in remote regions.

You might have some room to negotiate.
