Pilot is no longer an occupation in demand in Australia.
So unlikely you would be able to gain sponsorship as a pilot.
Possible you might get in as Family reunion.
The industry in Australia is different to Europe.
Most pilots gain hours in the bush flying single engine charter or instructing.
Unusual for guys to join an airline, in Australia, with less than about 1200 hours. In Europe 200 hours is often enough for a job in the Right Hand seat of an airliner.

They all paint a very accurate picture on GA and the airlines front. Stay there as you have more chance of getting a jet job. The light aircraft jobs here are very few ( e.g. instructing ) and if there are any bush flying jobs, it's seasonal and you will be competing with people from 250 hours and above.

This is why I left Australia and went overseas.
