If I hold a CL-65 type rating, does anyone know if I need the full blown CL-604 type rating course, or will differences training or conversion course suffice to obtain CL-604 type rating?

Thanks

I don't know how its working this way, but I know if you have a 604 rating you just need a conversion for the 605. Therefore I assume, it should be the same - no big differences between both aircraft

I believe by CL-65 he means the CRJ-100/200 as operated by Air Canada (or Jazz) who use the somewhat strange "CL-65" designation for that aircraft.

the 65 is the RJ.. not the new 605.
Anyhoo, I was offered a job on a CRJ-200 and told it was only a conversion course FROM a 604. maybe its the same the otherway?

It is a conversion course in either direction, but I understand it isn't much shorter than the full rating course. In any case, it should be an easy course. If you have the CL65 rating, the CL-604 course is easy. The atmosphere is better also, more relaxed, but still demanding.

CL-605 is a two-day conversion for CL-604 holders, one class day and one sim session. Sim was recently cert'ed.

Thanks for the inputs. Any insight where said conversion course might be obtained?

How about Bombardier, Montreal..... They train for both there.

We converted all our pilots from 604 to CRJ200/700 (CL65). You will need to to a complete intial course as they are different types ? Montreal Bombardier are far cheaper than Flight Safety for the type rating, as the CL65 is mainly for the airlines, and they won't pay Flight safety prices !!
