Suffering from the flu this morning - well sore throat, runny nose and semi-lifelessness (enough energy for pprune).

So looking in my drawer found a box of aspirins and one of paracetamols

question: which one to take?

Neither will speed your recovery, they just mask the symptoms. Paracetamol is more focused at relieving headaches, where something like aspirin and other NSAID's may work better at relieving other aches and pains. The best thing to do is stay in bed (or on PPrune!)

paracetamol damages the liver
aspirin damages the stomach

lemsip contains paracetamol rather than aspirin
do not mix them!

Will have a vodka then as taken Paracetamol - then both stomach and liver even out!
