All the posts about EK i have read in this forum are quite disturbing. The sentiments vary from dissension, sagging morale, gripes, although quite a few here somehow manage to shed a brighter side of the life in the sandpit.

If EK is desperate to get pilots, then why do many applicants go home with shattered dreams and bruised ego of becoming a part of the wonderland that is EK? 1 out of 7, 2 out of 10 making it after the final round is a high mortality rate. Is the criteria so high that joining EK is like becoming an astronaut? If the invited applicants don't have a good chance of passing the selection process, why were they called for an interview in the first place? So wouldn't it be more appropriate if EK include this in their website: APPLY AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Well, just wondering...

Well it's funny you would use the word ASTRONAUT, because there are very few Rocket Scientist's coming through the door! HR Recruitment are basically swamped, they cannot keep up, yet they continue to muddle on, insisting that all new hires go through the full monty of tests, anal probes, letters from mum etc.etc, which means it takes ages to hire anybody. Honestly, I think anybody with half a brain (that is obviously where we fall down here), could use common sense, a couple of basic HR interview scenarios, and still hire the same quality, but at 10 times the speed !
