November 30 - Ethiopian Airlines Leases B767-300ER
In its endeavour to match the increasing number of passengers, Ethiopian Airlines has signed an agreement with International Lease Financing Corporation (ILFC) based in California; North America to lease GE powered Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. The lease agreement, signed on November 23, 2006 at Ethiopian’s Head Quarter in Addis Ababa, will be for five years effective December 08, 2006. The lease is on dry (operating) basis. Ethiopian Airlines cockpit crew will operate the aircraft to any scheduled destination and its cabin crew will provide service on board.
The B767-300ER manufactured in October 1996 is a 220-seater aircraft and will accommodate 30 passengers in Cloud Nine and 190 passengers in Economy Class.
The aircraft with flight number ET-9201 is ferrying direct from Amsterdam, Netherlands to Addis Ababa. It will depart Amsterdam on November 30, 2006 at 12:00 local time and will arrive at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport the same day at 21:45 local time.
The arrival of the B767-300ER will fulfill Ethiopian’s current capacity requirement especially for its long range operation.

Rather an elderly plane. I was hoping they would be leasing the Varig 772s that are now available for lease.
