This will be like opening a can of worms perhaps...
Finishing off the ATPLs and already done with CPL-ME-IR. Have some time, but not lots in twins, no turbine and unfortunately slightly past the 35 year marker. Huge family (that's what my friends say) and lots of obligations ofcourse.
Nevertheless, silly enough to want a flying job before I retire. So, to be realistic, Scandinavia and preferrably Stockholm area, yeah, that's cutting it thin, I know.
Where the heck do I start?
Are there ANY jobs in this area?
Who do you bribe to get on the list?
Gotta live too, so no camping beneath the wings...
I'm probably screwed.:uhoh: Or?

Ryanair perhaps with Skavsta base ? Don't know if they still operate out of sweden, but they are always looking for pilots. Best way to "get in" is to attend one of their roadshows and sign up for the interview process and sim-check. Then be prepared to pay for the "lot".

Look at this site

www.magicbird.nl

They've got an ATP operating between SDL and ARN on a post contract.
Good outfit - but not sure if they're still looking as they have several new guys going through type rating at the moment....

There's a rumour about a Torp base for RyanAir. Does anyone have any information about this?

Are there talk of other norway bases for RA?

West Air is a good place to start at now. Had some crew leave to Jet positions so need some new right-seat people. Good place to start. Try to get an internal reference as that will most probably get you there faster.

Thanks for the tips.
I'll probably give West Air a go, had them on my list already.

Anybody have experience hauling cargo?

If all else fails:
Get a S340 rating and call Nordic Solutions.
It's a crappy company and thus they will allways need pilots.

Also Finncomm (Golden Air) in Finland needs pilots with Saab 340 type rating...
