I've just now heard a rumour that Captain Ian Harvey has passed away, apparently on or about 28OCT06.
Can anybody confirm this terrible news/rumour?
Ian and I go back many years to his time in the B727s in Australian Airlines, we went together to Kuwait Airways when the 727s were sold, and flew their -17R models together for some time. When the Kuwaitis sold their 72s to Syrian Air, we parted flying company, Ian went on to the A320 and I graduated to the 742. Ian became quite an authority on the 'workings' of the 320 in the desert.
Ian has been back in Oz only a few years, lived up near Darwin somewhere I thought.
What a great pity if it's true, a truely talented man whom I called my very good friend.
Can anyone confirm or deny this rumour?
