The rumour going round is JT is flying his 707 into Rome for the Cruise/Holmes wedding. I wonder if this is possible as I doubt his 707 is RVSM compliant ( or any 707 for that matter) and also what about noise restrictions in Europe and particularly Rome ?

He's been here reasonably recently in it, when he was doing his Ambassador for Qantas bit.

I believe it's fully compliant with RVSM and is Stage 3'd. I believe anyway.

Have a sneaking suspicsion if you google it you'll get all the information you want on it - or airliners.net which had hundreds of pics of it.

I happened to be in Stansted the day he flew out of there in the 707 during the Quantas tour. Nice airplane and had all the Harrods girls giddy, hoping he was going to ask where the hell his weather/Notam package was, why he hadnt had a toilet service done and what the delay was on the fuel truck:E

No - that's an old model being done up to be flown shortly to Longreach as a display at the Qantas Museum. Spotters thread has more info.

The 707 is fully fitted with noise and RVSM kit. It was suppressed before he bought it, while the RVSM will have cost him a penny or two. Not an issue, there are still a number of other 707s and DC8s flying around Europe (and IL62s from Russia as well).

The one at Southend is a different airframe.
