Hi I was not sure which forum to post this question in but here it goes, I'm sure you will let me know if it is in the wrong place.

A good friend of mine has a Diplomatic passport due to him being part of a royal family. Just wondering how this acually effects him when flying(as PAX) , eg. security checks , visa issues etc. Or is he just the same as everyone else due to the fact he is not a diplomat.

thanks

Greetings,

If your chum holds a valid diplo passport, is listed on the holders list with the various governmental agencies, then he can proceed as per international protocols. This must be checked with his own government to ensure that he is listed and all the overseas legations hold him as such.

Also any time commercialing his status must be made known to the carrier and of course his passport shown. Requests for special handling at airports outside of his own nation must be made through the local embassy.

Sounds simple, but can cause "brainhurtz" even when a "Royal/Amiri" flights acft hits the deck.
