Good Morning Fellow Pilots,

I recieved an email for and interview in december for virgin nigeria, which
was such a surprise as I only sent it off late lastweek.I have changed my interview date until january in the UK instead of Lagos as passport issues.
I have spoken with Hr at virgin nigeria and below is some info on the interview
process and actual flight time that they want. Also if any of you guys get a
offer for an interview for december, (only 6 remaining slots for december)
you'll have to sent your passport off to the embassy to get the visa so dont take it until your sure youll get it back, as what my situation was. They are
setting up dates for january in the UK as they know how difficult it is becomming to go to lagos.so anyone going for the interview in january
let me know.I will be sent an email from HR hopefully today regarding the
salary and so on.THE BIGGEST THING HERE GUYS IS THAT YOU WILL BE
BONDED THATS FOR SURE.
I WAS TOLD THAT ITS A 3 YEAR BOND AND YOU ARE BASED IN LAGOS
I WAS NOT TOLD ANY DOLLAR AMOUNTS BUT AS SOON AS I GET MORE
INFO I'LL LET YOU GUYS KNOW.
I WAS TOLD THAT THEY ARE BEING VERY SELECTIVE ON THE 500 HOUR PILOTS THE VERY SKILLED ONES WILL THEN GO THROUGH A LOT MORE TRAINING THEY DID NOT GO INTO TO MUCH BUT SHE DID SAY THAT THE 500
HOUR PILOTS WILL NOT BE FLYING AS FO STRAIGHT AWAY.THEY ARE LOOKING FOR FUTURE CAPTAINS SO IDEAL IS 3000+ HOURS WITH JET TIME
OR TURBO PROP TIME.

1.stage one: A brief presentation which will detail information about Virgin
Nigeria Airways.

2.stage two:A formal interview where you will be asked various questions by
a panel of three-four interviewers.

3. stage three: A technical examination where you will be required to complete the virgin nigeria airways pilot interview examination.
I did ask about this its a 50 question multi choice exam, she said it has
been updated and also its a very fair exam, things to study here guys

1. aerodynamics
2.jepp charts
3. weather, some questions on windshear.
4. runway lighting etc

I was also told that this whole process takes around 3 hours.
they do not pay hotel or airfares for the first interview, but if you
pass the first then your off to the UK for the second part of the
process where they will then pay for your accomodations and airfare.

Part two of the interview is a sim ride and another test, pass that then
you go through contracts and wait for your 6-8 week simulator training
which I think is in lagos.

SO THERE IS AN UPDATE AS SOON AS I RECEIVE THE NEXT EMAIL WITH
SALARY AND BOND DETAILS I'LL FORWARD IF OFF TO YOU GUYS/GALS.

SAFE FLYING

Thank you very much for the detailed info.:ok:

I'm curious about a couple of things. I assume the bond is partly to defray the costs of getting you typed. What if one is already typed or SIC qual'd in the 737?

Secondly, what kind of sim are they using for the "second part of the first interview?"

With 640TT (200 jet+some unusual Boeing experience) I'm about to send an app in (but considering getting my own 737 Type rating in a few months).

Hello Flytester,

Well I Believe The Bond Is For The Type,hr Mentioned Today
That After The First Interview Then The Second Would Be
In Gatwick For A Sim Eval And Then A Psychology Test.
I Dont Know What Sim They Use I Have Sent Hr Some More
Questions Regarding That, I Am Now Reading My 737 Notes And Studying For The Tests And Interviews.

With Regards To The 640 Hours They Did Mention That They
Have Gone Through Over 1000 Resumes In The Last Week Or So
And That They Are Working On This 500 Pilot Program, but She Did
Say That Some Very Skilled Pilots Have Come Through With 500 Hours.also With Regards To Buying A Type She Did Mention That
You Would Still Get Training From Them As That You Would Still Be Bonded.

Hope They Answer Your Questions, If You Have More Then Pm Me.

Safe Flying

Mike
